Lawyer and art critic, of Little Rock, Ark. George B. Rose was born on 10 July 1860 in Batesville, Ark., the son of U.M. and Margaret T. (Gibbs) Rose. At the age of five his parents moved to Little Rock. He received his education at St. John's College in Little Rock and studied law under his father. He was admitted to the bar in Jan. 1879.
